For over 30 years, the GEM has been organising ‘GEM Médiévales’, a major popular event held around 15 August each year to showcase the architectural and cultural heritage of our beautiful 13th-century Bastide.
After a 2022 edition celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Fêtes Médiévales de Monflanquin, and the success of the 2023 and 2024 editions, the 2025 programme for the 33rd edition is ready!
The numerous free events and paying shows will delight and dazzle a large family audience of residents and summer visitors. Fighting knights, singing and dancing troubadours, fire-eaters, jugglers, stilt-walkers and other fantastic characters will take young and old back to the Middle Ages in the alleys, streets and squares of Monflanquin!
The Monflanquin Medieval Festivals have become a major fixture in the local summer calendar.
During this event, the GEM gives 6 other associations* in our village the opportunity to participate by offering catering services to visitors. This operation generates most of the annual income for these associations.
This event would not have been possible for so long without the close collaboration of the town of Monflanquin, the Lot-et-Garonne Departmental Council, private companies, craftsmen, shopkeepers, restaurateurs and, above all, a hundred or so volunteers who work enthusiastically to make this a unique event that contributes to the attractiveness and promotion of our region.
* Rugby 4 cantons BHAP, Amicale des Sapeurs-Pompiers, Les Amis du Cheval, Le Boudy Basket Club, La Famille Ça Grandit, Monflanquin Football Club.
14 troupes, bringing together 116 artists, will liven up the narrow streets, squares and squares of the Bastide of Monflanquin over these 2 days, with some fantastic shows on the Cap del Pech!
